Title: Garcai Kingfisher GK-Series Level & Non Level Wind Parts Source
Post by: Wompus Cat on January 08, 2022, 02:48:52 PM
I just bought a box of these GK's  #'s 60 -74  some are level winds .
Seems like well built Reels but I ain't seen any where to get a Parts Schematic without paying 40 bux to join a club and that rubs me wrong .

I don't mind paying a few dollars to get a copy they got for nuthin .

Just need one to get a part number .I  think I am able of tearing one down and putting it back together .
One of my buddy's said there is a guy in England that has a lot of stuff on these ? But didn't have the  name of site or shop.
I need a Side plate for the Handle side of a GK-74.
Any  body got a Source for parts on these ?
Thanks.

No. They look like a good Penn facsimile. How would you rate the levelwind mechanism compared to those on a Penn?

They can't be as bad as the Garcia white side plates.  I bet every one of them is broken by now.

I have repaired a GOB of those and Reely don't recall ever seeing one that did not have spider veins on it .

I just received three GK-72 reels  with what appear to be three NFG National "rods of distinction"  along with some other old fishing stuff from a friend who just lost his dad.  He said I should use them or "dispose of them as I saw fit".   The reels appear to be in good shape, but I haven't taken them apart or cleaned them yet.  The rods look okay...the labels are mostly missing; two appear to be model 340.  If you are interested, I can send the reels and/or the rods your way either for parts, or to add to your collection.  I haven't taken any pics yet, but I can do that as well.
