Title: Newell c220 bearing size
Post by: double_entendre on May 13, 2022, 11:43:42 PM
Tearing down my C220 and noticed that the bearing is larger in diameter than the bearing cup and doesn't fit in the cup, but instead just gets pushed closer to the spool when I tighten the cup, but doesn't pull back when I loosen the cup.

Having seen Alan's post about saving bearing cups, I'm wondering if that's incorrect?  I think I ordered the bearing straight from Boca, so maybe they screwed up or I did.

Thoughts?

Yes the bearing won't fit in the bearing cup in the C models so you should have the right bearing. Never had a problem with one.  Tighten it down so there's a tiny bit of play in the spool and you should be good.
Pretty sure all Newells use the same size beating
