Title: My New Toolbox a Waterloo industries 40520
Post by: steelfish on June 08, 2022, 04:23:11 PM
while I not the guys that use to find good deals on flea markets or Yard sales this time I feel as happy as when I found a Penn Baja Special reel for $35 dlls on a Flea Market, as many of you might or not know, I dont have a man cave, garage or an extra room for my rod building and reel repair activities, all is done in a mobile station that I set on my living room and clean everything as if I never was there when I finish for the day.
so, for my reel repair tool box I have a medium size plastic Stanley tool box, after few years working on reels I've been buying tools that I keep separated from the House DIY tool box and the Car tool box and I fit everything on that Stanley plastic tool box, but lately is just a messy bunch of tools that I have to spend time looking for the plier, screwdriver tip, et that I need, so I opted to use freezer bags to separate them and that worked so far, but I was already thinking to get a tool box with drawers but the metal good ones are kind of expensive and the plastic ones with drawers get worn pretty fast.

Yesterday I saw a add from one of my local "2nd hand" stores and saw they where selling a metal box with drawers, I went there on my lunch time to check it out and it was on pretty good condition, best part is the all drawers slid pretty smooth and even have a nice cover bed on the drawer floor and sidewalls  :D , the Waterloo Industries 40520 Metal box

so, I bought it for $30 dlls, took it home and clean it pretty good, man! its cool and feel nice to finally stop fighting with all the bunch of tools on the only one big space of the tool box to find the one I need.

Met my previous Fishing Reel Repair Tool box

Now the new Metal Toolbox, this toolbox made me feel as a professional  ::)  ::)   ???  ;D  ;D

as you can see in the last picture, it still have plenty of space for more tools, I will try to only use it for specialized tool because it was already heavy when it was empty, now with the few tools I put in there is pretty heavy, btw, its small enough to fit on the dedicated space on the room where I use to put/hide the plastic toolBox when not in use, that made my wife happy too  ^-^

Those are really nice boxes, Alex! Believe me, though from experience, if you load one of those up completely you won't be able to pick it up.  ;D

I BELIEVE you 100%, if I load all the compartments on the toolbox it will be easier to build a room around it that carry that thing everytime I need it

that was on 2016, just after I get my Baja Special reel, months later I found another all beaten up

BTW, I already sold it to one of my good fishing partners that lost his Penn Baja Special on the ocean, the rod slipped from his hands while handling the rod and a fish  :(

Nice Alex...you are in the Big Time now.  Beware tool boxes seem to grow like reel collections 😉. Bill

Waterloo makes the current crop of craftsman tool chests. Their parent company is Stanley. Nice American made story.

Those are excellent boxes, Alex —-

A few years ago, I had found an old Kennedy box that had been discarded because the lid was caved in.

Grabbed it, removed the lid —- it made an excellent box for drill bits, drivers, and such.

Best, Fred

I was aware of the lid that covers the drawers with a key, I though it was just a flat mat or something  ;D , I knew what it was when I searched on the web about that specific toolbox
