Title: Daiwa Zillion Parts Needed
Post by: The Reel Dr on July 29, 2022, 03:40:26 PM
Hi All

Trying to repair a Daiwa Zillion 1516xxhl, and need the pinion gear set (part#Z02-1831). Daiwa says its been discontinued. These parts are not in stock and are  no longer available, which is a disappointing. I havent been able to locate the parts anywhere and am just wondering if anyone has or knows where these parts can be obtained.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks.. I saw that and reached out to them prior to reaching out here. They (along with others who show it as in stock) indicate they do not have the parts

Unfortunately that is happening WAYYYYY TOOOOO MUCH in everything these days .I have had H E double Hockey Sticks finding a lot parts for my old Mercedes . MB of USA and Dealers in Europe shows them and so does the classic center but whenI order and pay up front within a couple of days get no longer available . I have a lot of stuff but some of the simplest things are not available .
I have your part number and will dig through what I have bout doubt I have it  .Won't hurt to look . I have been sorting through the stuff for weeks and did see some things for the Zillion but think it was some springs or shims .

Southwestern Parts and Service says that they have it:

https://www.southwesternparts.com/code/orderparts.php

Just enter the part number (z02-1831) and click "DESC". It should bring up the part.

Unfortunately I received a call from Southwest today to advise they dont have the parts in stock. This seems to be the case for other suppliers as well (Mikes Reel Repair), they show in stock on their site, when they actually dont have. So, back to my original request... does anyone happen to have the parts or know where they can be obtained?

update- after receiving the notification from Southwest, I was again on the hunt for the part. I discovered the actual part I need is Z02-1769 which is the 9:1 vs the 6:1 (Z02-1831). This too is discontinued and is somewhat difficult to find.
I think I found the parts on https://tackletrap.com/. I've placed the order, hopefully they dont contact me like the others to advise its not in stock
