Would you consider the TLD 15 lever drag, single speed a 30# reel? Bill
yup, it would do fine. it should hold about 300 yards of straight mono. no real benefit in adding braid here. i would add a carbontex drag. and, of course, there are handle options. ;D

I bought one about 7 years ago. After I dunked it, I disassembled and replaced the canvas looking washer with a Smoooth drag c-Tex washer—-much better. Then I added a spool shaft spacer sleeve(AKA "bearing sleeve")to eliminate some free-spool rub when the reel was tilted sideways——much better.
