CRAP-OLA!!!

Dungeness Crab fishing here in California has been delayed till  Dec. 30, 2022.

Right now, I have a better change of catching a Blue Fin Tuna with David Hall...

AND I Don't even OWN a harpoon!!!!!

NO CRAB FOR  YOU!!!!

Frustrating for sure.

I think that there is some sort of loophole for crab rings/hoops that get checked every couple hours.  You can't soak traps.  So if the boat has invested in a set of hoop net, they are probably doing crab combo trips now.

The recent trip reports for this boat are showing crabs caught with hoop nets.

And you might want to make sure that you are allowed to use harpoons instead of gaffs on tuna.  The California regs don't seem to allow it, but it would be nice if they were more clear.

Seems like you need a law degree to go fishing around here nowadays.

Dave,

YES, using small crab nets or snares are allowed, BUTT NO commercial fishing for Crabs.

I need my fishing Attorney, Dominick, close by just to fish the Truckee River.

5 Different fishing areas on that one river.

Gfish, your statement is correct.

Huh??? I don't understand the regs either.  Law degree does not help.  Dominick
