I have a few Shimano Stella reels in the shop that are not working because one part is not available anymore. Kinda silly to make a thousand dollar reel as a throw away.
Anyway this was locked up and would not move. When this happens the gears get ruined from the user trying to turn it.
I removed the oil port and rotor and filled the reel with CorrosionX. It was sitting while I finished their other reels.
To my surprise it came free and spun with no problems.
It was rebuilt with new bearings, ready to fish another day!
