Title: PENN SPINNING TORQUE 9 DEFECTS
Post by: mjberrocal on June 30, 2012, 01:14:23 AM
Could anybody tell me if there is a way to determine, through the serial numbers of the reel or date of manufacture, if the defects highlighted in the link below (superb review of the Penn Spinning Torque 9), have been corrected.  I would like to purchase this reel but wouldn't know if the new piece I am buying has been corrected or not.  I called PENN this morning and the guy who is supposed to know will not be back until next week.  PENN told me that the defects have been corrected and that the reel can now push the 50 lbs as advertised.

Thank you,

MJ
