Title: ABU 5600 UC question
Post by: ibfishin on August 04, 2009, 01:56:58 AM
How in the world do you get the plastic gear (part #23360)off of the left side of the spool to get to the bearing underneath? Is it pressed onto the spool shaft? Are there grooves that it locks into inside the spool sleeve?
Thanks,
Brian

i just grab it firmly with my fingers.  if it's badly stuck, a small flat screwdriver will work.  it grabs on opposite sides.  get in under the lip, push in and lift.  alan

Thanks.

It looks clean, but must be just badly stuck. I was afraid to pry on it with a screwdriver. I'm not very impressed with the UC line. I guess they are great for the novice because they are difficult to get a backlash on. My classics cast farther than the UC line.
