Title: TLD 25 Clicker in Freespool?
Post by: knockdown on August 19, 2009, 11:53:32 AM
Thanks for this site, great resource!

I have a couple TLD 25's that have an issue with the clicker skipping only when in free spool.  I noticed when the drag is applied, it pre-loads the spool in the direction of the reel handle.  If I manually pre-load the spool towards the reel handle when in free spool, the clicker works OK.  Should I trim the click paw via click paw washers or figure out why the spool is moving so much when in free spool?

sometimes the click tonge is badly worn.  sometimes it's the gear.  have you had a chance to pull the spool and take a look?  alan

Got it a part, the metal gear is wobbly on the plastic base (98) and the metal gear shows signs of wear on the inside towards the spool.  Perhaps order a new gear and give it a try.
