I could help if it was a 113H but I'll check to see what I have.  I do have a pile of SS 114H dogs.

If someone asks me why I love this site so much I'm just going to give him the link to this thread.

And Paul, I hope you go and catch a big one with that reel and then tells us all about it. And when you have kids of your own you'll pass it on. :)

Karl, I'm not disagreeing with you, but good things happen everyday on this site, not just on this thread ;)

Pcde mentioned that he wants to cartch some sharks, send that reel to me so I could double dog that baby ;D.

he needs it before the end of the week, so there will likely not be time.  we still have my father-in-laws funeral services to prepare for, coming up this saturday.  i've taken some time off work, so i will have time to get a few things done.

whatever you do DON'T let him attempt to "double dog" it himself

the possible effects of such a task could be irreversible and haunt the kid for a lifetime.

ok, paul, here you go!  joel send your reel to me and it arrived in pieces.  that was actually easier because it saved me the trouble of taking it apart.  it was missing a handle, a dog spring and a side plate screw, but that was it.

i needed just a minute to sort out the screws.

i'm going to add a used handle grip, a clamp that i dug up from the bottom of a box, and a used handle arm.

i also have a stainless steel gear sleeve kit for the high speed 114hl.

the gear sleeve fit perfectly.  there is only a couple of thousanths of up and down play.

i had to grind down the high speed 114hl dog to match the low speed 114 dog.

it worked fine.

and all done!  your reel is in the mail.  it should be there by saturday!

Alan, your kindness knows no bounds especially now when you are suffering a bereavement. You have taken the time and made the effort to help a young man in need. If anyone ever needed their faith in human kindness restored they only have to read this thread.

A good example why you're our leader. You're a good man Alan.
I'm glad I'm a part of this great site.

Pcde, I would leave that reel as is and never change it. As you already know, that baby is very valuable,
it is loaded with kindness from others and customized by the Master himself.

I hope you get lots of use with it, enjoy it!

I think I gave the dog-spring to fastfish in Florida, I forgot to put the handle in box.  I knew it needed a plate screw but was guessing Alan would have one in his pockets or ashtray .......

Looks great Alan.

for sale: One Penn 6/0 handle, make offer  ;D

I can totally understand.  When I was going through a difficult time, it was work/hobbies that helped to keep my mind clear and sane.

I wish I joined this site back then...  Would've given me a chance to KAKUA or help out.   I'm glad for you it all worked out the way it did.  Sometimes we only wish we can be part of something like this.

It sounds like you really appreciate what these guys did.

Like Alto Mare said:
"Pcde, I would leave that reel as is and never change it. As you already know, that baby is very valuable,

What a gift from some good human beings.
