Cone should be posting a pick of the tools my fiancée got me for Christmas. I also had some mini LED Flashlights made up with my company name, address and phone number on them. I have already got a couple of the local bait shops allowing me to leave them on their counters for advertising.  And i am currently attempting to build a web sight. I will also be running smoothdrag washers through Dawn.

Chris this is great! Owning my own business Since 1999 I know how tough it can be to get the ball rolling!! You'll do great. Just keep plugging and always remember that there are NO short cuts for good craftsmanship! Sometimes the customer does not see or even appreciate the work and ingenuity that goes into what you do, but you'll know. Best of luck!

I went into business in 1985.  I haven't had to take orders from anyone since.  Hard work but being your own boss is where it is at.  The best to you and wishing a long and successful career.  Dominick

Thanks Cone. That was the last of the tools i needed to be able to get started. My fiancée (Ms. Clause had them sitting under the tree for me. My first official job starts tomorrow, a Mitchel 302 red dot. Fun, fun, fun.

Love the job you did Kieth. And once i get some good money flowing i plan on picking up some of those extra reels you have. And i forgot to speak up at your house Thursday. But if you decide to sell that 14/0 let me have first dibs please. We can work something out on it.

I only have one. A 14/0 two speed. I am scared of it myself. I have it in reserve. When I get spooled with a Senator 14/0. I'm bustin' it out! ;)
Everol only makes one bigger. The mighty 18/0. They lay claim that this is the largest reel in the world.

I have fished an Everol 12/0 back this past summer. We nick-named it the punisher as it was a pure beast. by far the sweetest reel I have fished with. just make sure with those big ones that you have a harness on as they get heavy pretty quick.

Actually... no.   :)

I didn't want to mention it before, but the 20/0 is now available. It has been in the works for a long time, but in the last year or so Everol has invested in some new (bigger!) machinery and decided to answer to the demand for something bigger. Never mind the specifics for line capacity or drag... it has a LOT of both.

This doesn't detract from the coolness of your 14/0 at all though... The 14/0 is sort of the long time original cult classic monster reel; the one of legend. The real McCoy. Enjoy.

Thanks Kieth. I will definitely let you know if i need and pointers. Main thing is going to be making sure i keep all those drag pressure springs together. The rest shouldnt be to bad. Good thing is will have a lot of work surface should Daron decide to let me work on it for him.

Just keep the spool upright on the table as you lift the drag washers off. The springs will usually stay put.

So I'm in a Cult Now. Cool! 8)
Don't get your hopes up Chris. I was just kidding. I see no need to service it yet. After I fish it, yes. I installed the handle. This is brand new fresh out the Box! That's a 9/0 in the center behind it, just to give you an idea of its massive size!

Stop your making me jealous. I had a chance to get that 12/0 but was no where close at that time to come off of $450.00.

I serviced a 12/0 last fall.  Cool reel, but there are many dissimilar metals in contact w/ one another and the bearing that's buried in the drive bushing is a pain.  Parts aren't cheap either.

Well, no more dissimilar metals than anyone else really. Stainless, aluminum, maybe some bronze... the usual. And you're right- that roller bearing was such a pain, that it was deleted from the reels a decade or two ago and replaced with an oil bronze bushing instead.

The two-speeds use a bearing there, but it is a regular stainless steel ball bearing like all the others.
