Thank you everyone for you help. I placed a partial order with utmost, a suppler I have dealt with in the past. I have to decide what cork grips I want to build with....I know one piece is not going to work. I have to study the blank and lay out different patterns. Think I mentioned it before that I am building this rod for my wife (Ruth) It's a special build so I'm going to take my time with it.

Joe, I know you said you don't like to deal with Mudhole, but their cork jig can make some beautiful grips.... just saying.... it's on my list of things to do when I run out of other things to do....

Sid: I know Mudhole has a lot of rod building supplies but I don't like the way they skin you with postal charges, and I found that there help isn't that actions to give any help, just my experience. I have been given lots of sources here and like I said I'm going to lay out a design and find a source that can supply with the material I will need and be willing to help me with any advice or question I have. I feel I need to explain. I am not a seasoned rod builder, I built probably five rods so far.

I assume you know if dealing with cork you will need a set of reamers. Don't want to crack it on a fit that is too snug.

Yes, I will have to make a reamer for that dia. rod .730" &.700" This is a project in progress. I'm not to sure where I'm going with this build, I am going to sit down and try cooler patterns for the wrap and under wrap for the guides etc...etc. I don't know if I'm over thinking this, however I come from an Engineering background and we tend to over think everything ;D ;D
