I was wondering if anyone knows how to tell if your female cam that sits inside the lever on an avet lx 6.0 single speed is worn out or not functioning properly.I replaced the side plate on mine and now it dosent seem to be ramping up properly from the bait position,to strike,on to full.I can only seem to get about 8 pds of drag at strike and when you try to go to full the lever is extremely hard to push and I don't want to force it cause im worried about that junky pinion bearing blowing out.In this 8 pounds at strike setting I have like no drag from bait to strike,at most a couple pounds. the beveled washers are arranged the way avets schematics show and when I put the lever and cams back on I set the male cam in the lowest position of the female cam and attached lever in freespool. The male and female cams don't look worn at all so im stumped on this one.Anyone got any ideas, thanx

You need to take it apart and reassemble it, making sure the lever is in freespool when you drop the cam in. The cam isn't in the correct position

Did the male cam come with your side plate?

If not, the male cam may be in the wrong position.  The male cams have these 3 pin looking things that are parallel to the side plate.  When looking at the side plate, the points of the pins form a triangle.  The male came should be position where one of the points is facing upwards, and the two lower pins are parallel with the reel seat.  Then when re-assembling, make sure the lever is in free spool before setting in the female cam.

Hope this works for you.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

well I took it apart and put it back together and somehow this whole time just had the male cam on wrong,it seems to be good now but still seems to ramp up fast from strike to full, but ill live with that being I only have a total investment of 75.00 into this thing, when you guys say make sure the levers in freespool when you drop the cam in are you referring to the drive washer because my female cam seems to be part of the lever, just curious.....thanks again dayone and bryan,I really appreciate the help.
