Penn 310 GTI - uneven spooling

Hi, looking for some help on correcting uneven spooling of a Penn 310 GTI level wind.   It seems to be favoring the left side of the spool (i.e. it is higher on the left).  How can this be adjusted?  How can you tell when it is correctly centered?  Thanks, in advance.

You can sometimes fix this by tweaking the lock nut on the end of the worm. Also, look closely at the line guide. If it is bent slightly the line will build up on one side of the spool.

it looks it was done on a rod, sometimes the way to lend the rod or touching the line while filling the reel on a rod result on something like this, like the BOss say, its doesnt look that bad, for my liking a bit overfilled

That doesn't look that bad compared to some I've seen. I thought I had that problem with one of mine, only to look more closely as I was winding it in. I found that my weak left hand was tilting the reel to the right, favoring the handle side, which was where the line was building up. Once I corrected this (took some time and observation) it stopped happening.

Thank you, gents!   Was wound on a rod, and the worm seems to have some play, so I'm going to tighten it up a little and see if it improves.

Sometimes if there is a nick in the worm where the pawl might hitch up, it can also lay on thicker where it hangs before it swings back, so don't forget to check worm/pawl for damage, also.
