I have an Okuma Cedros CJ 40S that i have sent back to Okuma 3 times now. Once i rinse the reel the reel becomes hard to turn. Everytime i send it back it works fine but once i rinse it again the same thing happens( reel is hard to turn) Instead of sending it back to Okuma for a 4th time can anyone offer me any help or advice on how to repair this myself and try to prevent it in the future. I am disgusted with this company. Please help.

Since the servicing from Okuma isn't resolving this, the main suspicion is that they are sending the reel back to you DRY (i.e., ungreased). Getting it wet each time afterwards causes corrosion somewhere in the reel.

I don't have the servicing I did on my Okuma CD-65 and CD-90 documented but here is my write-up on my Fin Nor FST60.

Look through it to get an idea of how much additional greasing was added, especially in packing the bearings with marine grease.

Here are some links that might help you with the CJ 40S:

The key part to NOT grease, but use a drop of CorrosionX, ReelX, or TSI instead, is the anti-reverse bearing that I'm guessing to be part no. 0910330.

Is there anyone I can send this to on the site that I can have it properly greased ?
