. Wow....whose bringing the kitchen sink. ;D

It's packed.

I've been on several 10 and 15 day trips and every one has been different.  On the first one (a 10 day) I was prepared for YT and school YFT up to 60#.  It's a good thing Mark at Charkbait talked me into bringing a heavy rod and a 50 as we ended up fishing for cow YFT for most of the trip.  The next trip was a 15 day and I thought I had everything I needed to catch wahoo and cow YFT, I had the heavy gear but my 40# gear was outclassed by the grade of wahoo we were catching....well I was hooking them and went 22-0...I made up for this by landing 3 cows up to 258#.  The next 15 day trip I knew I was prepared, and had most of what I needed but not all.  That trip I only lost 2 wahoo and brought 10 to port, 8 made it home.

What I've learned is to bring a variety of gear but you will never have what it takes 100% of the time.  This will be my first short trip and I'm bringing mostly 30# and 40# gear (2 each), one 25#, a light rod for calico bass and a 60# rod in case we find large YT.  I will also have several torpedo weights in the 6-8 ounce range, swimbaits, a few trolling plugs and feathers, iron, a pile of hooks and lots of fluorocarbon in the 20-60 range.  I have some reels I want to test so I will have far too many reels.  And then there is my "vintage" 40# rod with a 349L on it that I really want to catch a large YT with.  Toss in the kitchen sink and I feel I'm almost covered.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

Here are some of the things I've neglected to bring in the past:

Split ring/crimping pliers
Fish rags (with a shower curtain ring to clip on belt)
Vise grips
Screw driver
Hook file
Band-aids & Neosporin
Eyeglasses lanyard
Sunscreen
Shampoo
Cigarettes (if that's your vice)
Hand gaff for sorting fish at dock
Rubber gloves for same
and many more...

I have, however, always brought the kitchen sink.   ;D
