Hi Bryan,

Received the 5+1 stack drag kits a few days ago. They look great.
Keep up with the great upgrades and mods.

Best,

:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Hey Bryan,
Do you still have these kits available? If so, I'll take one. 8)

These kits are awesome. Super smooth and a lot more progressive drag. Great upgrade.

Thanks!

Bryan, Do you have any of these kits for a 149 available? Thanks, Darin
God, Family and Fishing, what else is there?

I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6...

Hello Bryan.  I purchased one of the 5+1 drag kits from Mystic parts for a 285.  I greased the washers with Cals reel and drag grease.  I installed them on the reel.  At 9 pounds of drag, the drag is not smooth.  Did I do something wrong or did I just happen to get a kit that is not up to par?

I even tried greater drag pressures trying to get the drag to break in.  Unfortunately there was no difference.

Hi Eddie,

If you didn't squeeze out all of the drag grease, try this.

Set the drag at 1# then pull the line against the drag and reel about 10 times, 1 yard or so each pull.
Then 3# and repeat what you did at 1#
Then 5# then repeat what you did at 1#

Then try your drags at higher pressure.

Another place to look is the hub of the gear and the gear sleeve. If that is worn and grooved, it'll affect how your drags will work.

Let me know the outcome.
