Glad you found out where it goes.  Now you have got me wondering whether mine should have one. I wonder what the shim actually does?

I can only assume that the washer is there to prevent the drag star chewing into the side cover if too much drag were applied. As the washer does not show on the parts diagram it is obviously an update that they found an issue with. So I guess it would only be an issue if you apply too much drag. And as the washer isn't shown on the parts list I guess it cant be ordered. But to recap the washer is 11.9mm o.d. x 8.13mm i.d. x .96mm thick and would need to be rust resistant
