I got the old 113h with the "easy access" drags and it has the 3+1 stack, are they any good, and should you put Cal's drag grease on them?

Rancanfish

Are they carbon fiber? If not, can them. Light coat of grease if so.

Some of the older 3 washer drag stacks contain asbestos.
All CF washers should be greased, the older drag material should never be greased.

I would recomend upgrading the drag stack.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

Quite sure they are asbestos. 5 Stack will make it smooth as butter.

The 3 washers are thick? Is so, they're asbestos, convert to a 5 stack of Penn HT-100's or Smooth drag Carbontex, both with Cal's drag grease.

Gfish

Pretty good price for that 5-stack from Mystic Penn Parts.
Asbestos drag washers will usually be thick, stiff and have little light colored flecks embedded in them.

You'll also need a new delrin friction washer that goes under the main gear. It's not included in the mystic kit. Mystic sells those seperately
