hello all - my name is J Grob - just joined the forum because I love old tackle! The history of it, the integrity of workmanship and most importantly the special experience I get using a product that I know another person built with pride because they cared about what they were doing. that's what does it for me, and that is why I love old tackle among other things.

I have spent the last 10 years working in the tackle business, and while I do like some of the new stuff, I am more into the type of things you cant find in a hundred different stores online. i guess you could call me a tackle picker

so I spent some time browsing other peoples posts on here, and seems there are a lot of other people on this site that like the same type of things.

so this community feels like a good fit for what I enjoy, and I hope to be able to contribute in a meaningful way.

little more about me:

best catch: the rooster in my profile pic - Punta Mita, Mex casting a ranger off a panga (on my honeymoon no less lol)
favorite quote: "If thing's feel under control you're just not going fast enough"
favorite joke: My dog saw you naked, he said your birthday suits needs ironing. ;-))))
what i dream about: (besides catching big fish of course) - maybe manufacturing fishing reels one day

Welcome it looks like you will fit right in.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Me too!... welcome Grob.

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Hi All;

New to the forum.
New to overhead reels, always used side cast reels previously.
I have a Stabicraft 1650 fisher. powered 90 hp Merc (works for me)
My wife is a better fisher than I, but I hope to change that.
Just started heading off shore fishing recently, much to learn.

Had some issues with my overhead reels and found this forum very helpful.

Hope to find some additional help and guidance in the future.
life's pretty dull without fishing
