Brett, I believe the two models are pretty much the same, with the exception of the weight.
I was also impressed and will probably  grab a smaller one as well. This is a nice reel.
Even though it is a baitrunner, I believe it is very much manageable, as for full service...even for a guy like me.

Unlike some releases, the new Ci4 is a definite upgrade.

They have dropped the 1600 model altogether along with the worm drive in favour of their new "square cog" deign which should result in better line wrap, especially where braid is concerned.

Consistent with the D series versus the B series in the Baitrunner Reels, it is a significantly more compact design , with many subtle refinements.

All in all, a much better reel.
