increasing the drag range of the avets

Was there some sort of adjustment to give the LX higher drag setting without problems ,the usual pressure on the cranking handle thing, in the past year or so? I just figured you would be the best to ask.

15 pounds of drag is really the limit before there is so much load on the right main side plate bearing that it becomes difficult to turn the handle.  the only way around it is to replace the right main side plate bearing with a larger one.  so from a practical point, 15 pounds is really the maximum.  if your reel can not reach that range, consider changing the orientation of the belleville from "()(())" to "((()))" and add a flat thrust washer to make up the height difference.  use the washer next to the drag pressure plate return spring.
