STRIPER LOU

Looks good Alan. Possibly you may consider a full radius on the end. Looks much more trim with some of the bulk removed.

Have a great day,  ..  Lou

Hi guys,

I did have that radius thing in the drawing at first, but Sal requested to have this design. I think it is much stronger with more material.

Alan, a full radius blend will not make it weaker. You would probably have to add at least 1/8" of material or more to the make the full blend.  Certainly not knocking Sal's idea or anyone else's for that matter.

Making the full blend radius will streamline it and get rid of some of the bulk. Pic shows full radius on the end for a cleaner look.

Just and opinion. Either way, thanks for your time and working on this.

all the best,  ..  Lou

No Lou, my request wasn't  based only on strength, I thought it looks much better than the one with the full radius.
I  have both as well, but prefer the one on top, I guess personal preference.

If Alan wants to change the drawings, that would be up to him, I'm still liking it as is though.

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

STRIPER LOU

Not a big deal Mr. C.
As you said, just a matter preference. I do make them here on occasion but with my equipment its very time consuming and not very cost effective. I can tell you which ones seem to be preferred here though.

Have a great evening,  ..  Lou

Just an observation to cut costs.

You probably will not need 2 handle but set screws if the distance is correct. You only need the center one.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

I missed this post while I was on a short holiday - it looks like a good design, I'm keen to see the final result. I will definitely be interested in a few, not only for my 113H but 349s & a Progear as well.
Thanks Alan!
Mike
It can't be too difficult - a lot of people do it.

I'm in for 1 silver and 1 red when these are ready. Aloha!

Hi Alan, will the blue match Tom's Cortez plates? I'm in for a few but have to decide on colors yet.

It will be more likely the same blue as my 501 aluminum spool colors.

I will also use the same design for Jigmaster's and Newell's handles
