Thanks to this site, I have been able to clean and refurbish several 50s, 30s, and 16s.  Nothing major, and I have never had to replace any significant parts.  But a good cleaning and bearing maintenance has done wonders for them.

I am now working on my 12V reels....

I am having an issue with one of them where the clicker is too tight against the spool.  No matter how I adjust it, it is either too loose (doesn't make contact with the spool) or too tight and makes the spool significantly harder to turn.  It seems like the spring is too stiff.  I have removed the assembly several times and given it a good cleaning and re-oiled wit with Reel-X.  The one thing I have not done was completely disassemble the clicker assembly.

I have been through just about every tutorial I could find and there is little mention of the clicker assembly.  Is there an adjustment technique I am missing? Or should I just replace the darn thing?

Thanks in advance.
