replace reel seat

Thanks to all for the advice.I replaced the reel seat and rear grip on the 7ft spin rod today.Hardest bit was getting all the old epoxy and foam off.Really happy with how it turned out.Once again thanks for helping turn a daunting job into something that was actualy quite rewarding.

Nice.   I always enjoy doing stuff myself, even if it occasionally (very seldom) does not work as intended, something is learned.
