Right now I use single strength Mustad 9/0 J's, they work alright, but I prefer circles for smaller shark baits. Owners are great for smaller baits, but after long soaks the chemically sharpened tips break off. IMO, the best shark hooks are the new commercial style circles such as LP's, VMC southern tuna style and circles, and Mustad's tuna double or triple strength J's are great. Mustad circles are nice and hook up great, but are more expensive than the more robust Lindgren pitman 18/0's. Hope this helped somebody.....

I have always had good luck with Owner offshore or Jobu hooks, 4x strong and a welded eye on the Jobu

My new Favorites. From left to right. VMC 16/0 offset, Catch all tackle commercial offset 18/0, Mustad 20/0 straight and Gama 14 for the big boys!
