How do you "spot" a 1503 reel, without a box or papers ?

I could not be certain as I do not have the familiarity with the 7000i series to judge this purely from external features and there is nothing stamped on the reel foot.

But you would immediately know upon disassembly by the number of drag washers.

i wish i saw this post this morning.  i was putting together a 7000 this morning and was having trouble remembering how the clicker went back together.  all done now, but it took a while.

Question:

Is the Main Gear different on the "1503" / "15 03" reels or is it just a different Drag Stack with thinner washers ?

I read somewhere online that the Taiwanese ( Omoto ) 7000i reels have a "post" on the spool arbor, whereas the original Swedish and Chinese reels don't.

Can you confirm this ?

Do all of the Taiwanese 7000i's use the same main gear as the "1503" / "15 03" ?
