   I must have missed this post, but John is right, the Levelmatic would be a great choice. I have to wonder though...what would you target that was small enough for 8 pound line yet need a bait clicker?
   I just slapped my 930 full of 17 pound pink Ande...prolly gonna wish I'd left it in the drawer when it gets scratched. 8)

Thanks for all the advice.

I've heard from several people now that free spool + clicker isn't safe since its still possible to backlash, which equals overboard.

Ive never had an issues with it though, but maybe I'll just go with the rod holder route.

Targeting CA halibut with live bait and it just seems like the light line fishes better.

Was going to mention those, I have a 940 but the gap between the spool and the ring is too wide for 8lb
