Penn Torque Gear

I purchased 8 of these for my Torque start drag reels. 6 have a recessed ring and 2 don't. The 2 that don't have 4.8 etched on them. Any idea why the 6 have a recessed ring?

Ah good. I thought you just came here to post first instead of letting us know so that we could check the stock for you!

I sent you a reply via the support ticket that I started.

Short answer is possibly a change of machining to be able to tell the three gears apart at a glance, since they look the same except for the number of teeth, but we have not confirmed this at this time.
