Shot in the dark, I've accumulated a half dozen or so red Cardinals... but I have a few complete  red 5-series and some parts. Are there any aluminum spools I can cross-pollenate, specifically for  a 556? The smaller ones will be loaner reels for kids to panfish with, so graphite is ok, but the  556 looks like it could comfortably fish 15-20 lb mono for medium cats and stripers.

Speaking of Cardinal, where have you been hiding, Harry??? Smiley

I've never seen a skirted aluminum spool for any of the Japanese made ABU Garcia 3 digit rear drag reels. The only ones I've seen are for the fulcrum drags and the 50/150 Swedish made rear drag models.

Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)
