1401 spool fit a 1400?

I have a 1400 Quick with the aluminum spool (bright color) and was wanting to replace it with the 1401 spool (black) which is also aluminum, but do not know if they will interchange. The 1401 came out with a better drag and anyone know if it would fit the 1400?
