What do you do when the eccentric guide breaks on a sideplate

I think it'll hold. The screw is 3/8" long. My greatest fear was actually drilling through the sideplate. Luckily, that didn't happen.  The head was also ground down smooth to ensure that there would not be any binding.  If they break the post including the screw, something else would majorly go wrong.
