I thought this may be worthy of sharing... a Pflueger TEMCO , Free Spool, Surf casting brass reel.
Patent dates are imprinted..JAN 22 1907, APR 3 1923. Leather thumb protection is intact. The entire
reel is completely functional...strong loud click drag, adjustable shell drags still functional. A well built
survivor. I am doing nothing to it short of keeping on a mantle for display....occas. wipe down and
surface lubrication. Hopefully one of my boys will appreciate this for the art it is...

Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Thanks Dominick... I've read on line where this version of surf casting reel was low in the
Pflueger food chain. I am impressed with the build quality, materials, and visual appeal. It
also feels "hefty" when held. I'll bet the stories it could tell would be entertaining. I would like
see Pflueger's "Top-o-the-line" surf casting reels from the era after WWI.
