I went to a tackle shop and bought some hooks which i felt looked like good quality hooks. They were inline hooks and i didnt think much of it at first.
When i got home and tried to tie some hooks, i realized that the flat hook eye was going to pose a problem when snelling.
Further googling suggests that inline hooks are used to replace treble hooks on lures. Can these hooks be used normally for live bait?
I was thinking of snelling it like a spade-end hook without using the hook eye.
A fishing hook is a fishing hook at the end of the day right?
Never thought what a small little detail like a hook eye would give rise to problems.

It is going to hang funny and hang off to one side.  I'd save them for their intended purpose and get something more appropriate for snelling. Presentation is everything.
