Ron Dunn here, from inland Australia.

I'm fascinated by odd-ball reels that involve sidecast and/or multiplier features, and I generally prefer freshwater-sized reels to salt. My favourites to date are the Lou Meyer Flo-Line, Grice & Young Orlando and derivatives, and the Crouch reel that was made in the 50s close to where I live.

I came upon this forum by search, and I've been lurking/reading for several months already.

Welcome, Ron, from Minnesota USA.

You may very well like the weird, unusual, etc. spinning reel posts that are ongoing for some months.

G'day and welcome.  Dominick, San Mateo, CA
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Hi Ron
I live in Queensland and my wife has some relatives who live in Bendigo. Her cousins husband uses 2 Sea Martin reels that you may be familiar with. He uses them for surf casting.
Welcome to the site. You can enjoy and learn a lot here.
