this idea is a follow up of this old thread https://alantani.com/index.php?topic=21999.0
on which I installed an aftermarket handle knob (alantani knob) to a penn torque handle and ended up with a brand new cut-out knob from the Penn torque that in many heads it was just good for the trash can

pretty sure this was already asked many times but couldnt found it
I switched knobs from the stock one for an AT knob, I didnt drilled the old one out but grinded the rivet with my dremel, the stock know still have a nice shaft left that is enough to cover the width a normal handle arm so....
its there any way to attach the stock knob that was taken out somehow to any other handle arm?
- weld it to a SS or alloy arm? - use a really HD epoxy to glued to a chrome/SS arm
- etc?
the old knob is brand new and could be a nice upgrade for small reels like jigmasters, abu 7000, squidder, etc
its a shame to consider it trash material

Alex. i apologize for missing your post....the new handle and arm will be a classic add on for sure....others may chime in but I think the old handle is toast for any other uses....Bill

Alex- Iíve now added three of Alanís handles to my Penn reels and each time I toss that nice ergo handle!  Such a shame...I wanted to add it to my SSV handles but no go...

after two years of having the knob cut from the torque handle (to install an AT knob) I found a use for it, it looks weird cuz it was used as test to see if it can "save" a trinidad handle from drilling out the broken knob to install an aftermarket one.
I did remembered the knob of the torque and wanted to check if it fits on the shaft of the trinidad handle, to be honest I didnt knew there was a screw at the end of the stock shaft of the handle, so I took it out, took the remaining knob bearing and size tested the Torque knob and it fit, just a barely detectable play on the knob and the shaft but not annoying at all, I just needed to file a bit the end of the knob to have a perfect fit and bingo.
now my friend have a gold trinidad with stock handle and a brand new Penn torque knob on it !!  Grin Grin
I was about to install a T-bar knob on it but my friend liked the like-stock-factory fix and of course, cheaper than a new T-bar cuz I installed it for free to him, at the end that knob it was already "trash material" right?

I dont know if this will help to fix some trinidad or torium reels with problems on the knobs (which are kind of usual), the fix is really cheap and you can buy the torque handle knob, cap and screws from mystic parts

PS: I feel like installing a chevy badge to a Ford car but to say the true only "reel-heads" like us will notice that, the rest guys will only use the reel and dont pay attention to anything  Tongue

as you could see on the previous pics the reel needed a good and deep service, now lets see some pictures on the shiny the reel ready to catch some fish and some of them comparing the recently installed Penn knob vs the stock knob on the tn16
