Hello all,
I acquired a nearly brand new S-229 and it has the Logo with 'slanted' lettering.
Does anybody know what year the 'slanted' lettering was first used?
I also noticed that it has a 10-toothed gear sleeve. What year did they switch to 10-tooth gear sleeves?
Thanks.

I'd like to see pics. Never heard of slanted Newell badges.
It's better to have fished and lost, than to have never fished at all

Think the 10 tooth started with the G's when they stopped using stainless and 4 stacks. The slanted letter I think started with the NL and thru screws. I've seen NL's with the letters both ways I think. Don't know what year
Do what you can with that you have where you are

I had a couple Newells with slanted letters. Have no idea about the year. No sure if I still have one or not.

Carl found out right away the paint or chrome rubbed off the positive letters on these support posts so discontinued them.
