I went there once while I was living in Portsmouth. Cool beach but very busy, at least when I was there.

Different types of fish are called 'whiting' depending where you are in the world.  Those are a member of the drum family.  West coast guys might mistake them for small corbina.  Firm texture, mild flavor and really delicious.

We got "Whiting" aka Pac. Whiting on the west coast. They are a pretty deep water fish and the most accurate common name is Sablefish.
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!
