Spinfisher VI 8500 Live Liner - Broke off during a tournament

Hello Everyone.

I have this Spinfisher VI 8500 LL (SSVI8500LL) that I bought a few weeks ago from eBay (Australia) and delivered here in Florida.
Last weekend I was partiticipating into a kayak fishing tournament and the reel broke off while I was reeling in a big kingfish, that was bummer, because I could have placed with that fish.... But it's fine.

The problem seems to be on the live liner, when I'm reeling it makes a big noise and is not spooling the line. To spool the line, I need to lift the live liner and then the spooling got engaged.

Anyone had this problem before?
