The guy I bought this reel from bought it in 1976. They were made by OHMORI in Japan from 1976 to 1978.
This 2410 is one of 4 reels in the 2400 series. They are 2400, 2410, 2430 and 2450.

The switch for anti reverse is simple , metal, and the lettering is fade proof, just like the badging on the body.

The anti reverse pawl stops the pinion gear.

The drag is oiled felt and is very smooth.

The pivot for changing to left hand wind is stored in part of the handle. I find this is an excellent idea, considering all of the pivots that Idid not get with other brands of reels that I have bought.(lost I assume)

I also like the skirted spool. If this reel had a bronze main gear, it would be even more desirable.

Yes, they are well built. I have a 2400 also but its not as nice as this one.
They are the simplest spin reel with a minimum of parts that I have found.

I don't know why my photos are oversize. Just did the usual procedure.

If anyone can reduce them a little it will show more stuff you can't see now. Or maybe its just showing like that on my computer?Huh?

Thanks for the look inside that one Greg...been curious about those. Looks like a solid design...one of the decent 70's reels. Check the sizing on the pics you uploaded, some of them must have got increased during the process. I've had it happen too.

forgot this one
I think the occilation system on this reel is brilliant. No screws or e-clips.

These reels also have the feature to lay the bail at the body.

At the 2nd picture above, you see a small metal pin at the bailarm. Push it and you can lay the bail to secure for transport.

Your reel is from the 2nd edition, the 1st had a chromed bailarm which was easy able to bend. Your reel have already the better one, but your reel doesnt have the letter DC at the body, which was claimed with the 3rd edition.

1st edition - 2450

the original Ohmori Series

There was also a same reel like the original Ohmori but already with Shakespeare letters. So far i know this version was very shortly sold, mainly in the states.

Yes, I have a 2201-050B that has a much more complex bail fold button which does not work as well as the 2410 one.
I have a 2400 that has the DC on it's side' but I was told it signifies first edition.
Thanks for your reply.
