I purchased a used older style 30TH in fantastic condition with Carbontex drags for my surface iron rod. I used it this weekend and loved it with the exception of the size of the stock reel clamp and bolts.

This may have been answered on a previous thread, but I couldn't locate one. Is anyone aware of a slimmer profile clamp set up?

Daiwa used to make an aftermarket clamp assembly for the 30 t reels. But I think they've been discontinued since they have not made that model in sometime. I think Tiburon has an aftermarket clamp assembly also for those. I think there's one other manufacturer I can't think of the name right now but when I get home I'll try to look it up and post any info I have on it

Here is a link to the Tiburon reel clamp assembly, scroll down to the 30T.

Here is the other company I was thinking about and I think you need the "DFP" clamp assembly.

I am not affiliated in anyway with either company. I do own some Tiburon products but that is about it.

Here is a link to a post on another board and the OP was looking for a clamp on a reel without even studs to hold one but this was for a rod without a reel seat. I said they may want to look at this.....SoCalAngler1 on the other board. Others chimed in on what they thought and some have used the DFP's.

Take it for what it is worth as I don't own or have used either product.

Also for fishing 40 lb or less topshots and the rod has a good reel seat just remove the bolts and go without a clamp. That's what I did when I had a Saltiga 30T.

These clamps may not work with a rod that has a reel seat so just be aware of that.
