Great job, Mo.  Those 304 are good prospects for a novice reel repairman. Very simple and easy to service.  Actually I've found the most difficult chore with one of those is removing the cover plate screws or crosswind block screws without boogering them.

Sure cleaned up nicely, Mike. It amazes me how well those nylon/plastic crosswind blocks have stood up over time.  :o They're kind of like the Energizer Bunny.  ;D

Tommy brings up an excellent point here. Why is it some plastic parts dry and fall apart, while others stand the test of time? I'm sure it's the type of formula used...or possibly the formula's resistance to oils and greases. 8)

Mike's looks like brass.

What's the deal?
Just tell me and please don't make me open mine to see what I have.

!! Don't Open Yours Steve !!  Mine is just stained from that dark grease...makes it appear brassy...but it is definitely plastic.  8)
