Heddon spinners compiled by model numbers with photo

The past several months us Heddon fans have contributed data and photos pertaining to the model numbers, line capacity, weight, etc. to many of the green models.  Here are some pics with all known compiled info at present.  If anyone sees a mistake or can add to the data, please do so.

Heddon 204, appears to be one of their their smallest, line capacity 80 yds 6 lb mono, weight 7 oz


Heddon 205R, 200 yds 8 lb mono, weight 12.5 oz.  For light saltwater and medium freshwater fishing. 4.5:1 gear ratio, double supported drive shaft with ball bearing.


Heddon 210R, 200 yd 15 lb mono, weight 17 oz. For light salt and heavy freshwater, steelhead, lake trout, northern pike, and muskie.


Heddon 212, 200 yd 15 lb mono, weight 15 oz


Heddon 215, maybe their smallest, 175 yds 6 lb mono, weight 6 oz


Heddon 220R, 200 yds 8 lb mono, weight 12 oz, with stainless steel ball bearing.


Heddon 222,  200 yds 8 lb mono, weight 12 oz


Heddon 227, large model, metal ball bearing, front AR system, brass drive shaft bushing, drive gear shaft is steel, oscillation block is nylon and 3 stack drag.


Heddon 230, Bronze main, pinion gears, ball bearing, 200 yd 10 lb mono, weight 12.5 oz


Heddon 233, 200 yd 6 lb mono, weight 9 oz


Heddon 234, 300 yd 4 lb mono or 200 yd 6 lb mono, weight 8.7 oz, convertible from right to left retrieve, snapoff spool.


Heddon 235,  200 yd 6 lb mono, weight 7 oz


Heddon 236, 200 yd 6 lb mono, weight 7 oz.  Appears to be identical to the 235 with different handle knob.


Heddon 238, 200 yds 6 lb mono, weight 12 oz


Heddon 242, large size, weight 24 oz. 200 yds 25 lb mono.


Heddon 245 (with its Roddy clone) medium size, weight 13 oz.


Heddon 246, medium size, weight 13.3 oz, 200 yds 10 lb mono


Heddon 248, 200 yd 10 lb mono, weight 13 oz


Heddon 250, no info available


Heddon 251, This is a large reel designed for lake trout, salmon, and muskie or light ocean. 250 yds 15 lb mono Weight 21 oz.


Heddon 252, a saltwater reel,weighs 20 oz, 250 yds 25 lb mono, high speed retrieve.


Heddon 260R, 200 yd 15 lb mono, weight 18.3 oz, For ocean spinning or extra heavy freshwater fishing.  Stainless ball bearing supported mainshaft. Multiple disc drag.


Heddon 266, 200 yd 25 lb mono, weight 18 oz


Heddon 270R, 200 yd 25 lb mono, weight 20 oz Heavy duty ocean spinning reel, 3:1 gear ratio, double supported mainshaft, multiple disc drag.


Heddon 277, 200 yd 15 lb mono, weight 18 oz


Heddon Spinmatic 280, light to medium size, 250 yds 8 lb mono, weight 12 oz.


Heddon 281, 200 yd 6 lb mono, weight 9 oz


Heddon 282, 200 yd 8 lb mono, weight 13.5 oz


Heddon 283, 200 yd 15 lb mono, weight 16 oz


Heddon 284, 200 yd 20 lb mono, weight 18 oz


Heddon Spinmatic 290, Light saltwater spinning and medium freshwater. , Holds 250 yds 12 lb  mono, weight 13-1/2 oz.


Heddon Spinmatic 295, heavy salt, described as a big ocean size spinning reel without the conevntional bail. Proven winner for heavy duty fresh water, too. 225 yds of 25 lb mono weight 22 oz.

What a great post. I like the look of the 283,284 and 285. Simply because they are ambidextrous and I am a right hand winder.
Shades of Shakespeare's 2400 series there.

   Greg, I'll bet you'd love those 281-284 models. They are my favorite. They have a robust build and feel fantastic. I just snagged a 283 and hope to tear into it this week.

LOL, nope, I own 17 of those 30 models and am pretty much satifsfied with what I have.  My main objective was to get these reels identified as to size and model.  Almost got 'r done, only reel in the group I'm not sure of is the 252.

Here is one more I wasn't aware of until now, the Heddon 250.  It has been added to the above group. Looks similar to the 245.

It appears to have a removable reel foot similar to some of the Shakespeare Sea Wonders.
