Is this really a Penn reel ??

They're a tad larger than most spincasting reels.  Have a star drag.

Wasn't aware that Penn had any spincast reels...or, that they built for Daiwa!
There's nothing wrong with a few "F's" on your record....Food, Fun, Flowers, Fishing, Friends, and Fun....to name just a few !

   I wish I didn't know about them...that thing is another one of those "holy grail" items to collectors. They bring big prices. Nice find Ted! 8)

Excuse my ignorance, until I actually read the whole thread, I was thinking about posting a comment along the lines of,
  " that's just plain ugly "
I apologies for even thinking that.  The old saying, knowledge is power, So great find Ted.
Spinning reels, have just never been my thing, so I am sad to say I quickly just dismiss them.

Again, my pure ignorance !.
I shall continue to learn.............

Hi Tony, thanks for posting Mike's article. The Daiwa 250 version seems to be most elusive. The one pictured here came from Japan. Not sure the 250 was ever sold in the USA
