Anyone know if a manual bail kit was made for these little guys? Love using them but they are real knuckle beaters.

Thanks,

Frank

Not that I have ever heard of. An early pre 304 CAP, those prior to '54, had a half bail, though.

Edit: I have recently seen one on a boxed reel that does not reference PUM, and also a loose PUM, but no one knows if they were factory made & offered or a fisher/repairman concoction.
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)

Yeah, I've been on the lookout for quite some time and have not come across one yet. To bad. Nice reels just needed a longer stem.

Here is a picture of one from stripers online, not sure if it's correct or not
They call it fishing, not catching

Yes...that is a correct 304-314 PUM. Here are pics of the boxed item and mounted on a reel. 8)
