There were once some commercial crabbers who would buy flats of frozen menhaden from the Blue Channel Co. and then sell their crabs back to Blue Channel for picking.  A guy started throwing a few frozen menhaden to a porpoise (bottlenose dolphin) and the porpoise started coming around every day as he ran his string of crab traps.  It didn't take long before other porpoises caught on and came looking for a hand-out.  Then the porpoises started teaching other crabbers to feed them.  Everyone thought it was really cool at first but it almost got out of hand.  The increasing price of crab bait was the only thing that kept it in check.  I don't think they ever taught them to come way up out of the water like that though.
