Checked in with my Mexicano friends in Los Cabos.  They are having it rough with the stay at home situation.  I was buoyed by the fact that they are staying close to their families and are practicing safe distancing, although they are running out of money for food.  I'll try to get a few dollars down to them.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Thank goodness Cedros got their full season in last year and don't start up (hopefully) until June. I hope they are all well as they work their butts off for 6 months strait. Places like East Cape  and Cabo that would be fishing now ; they are really going to be in a hard place soon if not already. We missed our trip to Ixtapa last month but have re-booked. My buddy is holding out but they need the tourists back bad.

I was supposed to be out on the No Tuna No Chinga right now on a trip leaving yesterday. We got cancelled due to the virus, we'll reschedule for a later time.

I got an email from John at Rancho Leonero on the East Cape a few days ago. He says that all of southern Baja is still buttoned up tight. They hope that they can get back to fishing on June 1.

The big thing for Mexico and for that matter  Canada or the U.S. will be when they decide to allow international travelers in again and then
what will be the restrictions ? Maybe you can go to Mexico or Canada, June 1 but you may have to quarantine when you get there or maybe you can go to Mexico fishing for a week but you have to quarantine for 14 days when you get home ....... who is going to do that ??  It may be much later that June 1 when you can fly to a different country, fish, come home and that is it.

Hope I'm wrong.

On sending some money to Mexico, I got a call from Wayne (el Pescador).  He said he wanted to contribute also.  He said he would match what I put in (I tried to get $10,000.00 from him but he balked :D)  I also spoke with Joe my fishing buddy from New Jersey and he volunteered to match my funds.  We each came up with $200.00 so I sent 14,604.00 MXN to my friend Raul with a list of 10 names to distribute the funds.  Since Raul knows all of my friends and acquaintances I told him to distribute the funds to whomever he thought would really need some money for food.  So if you have some friends in Mexico or wherever consider sending some cash their way.  Please no comments on our doing this.  These are just the facts.  The people on the list have been terrific to me over 20 years of my Mexican trips.  Dominick

awesome move amigo DOminick, pretty sure they needed that money and also I can asure they will use the money to buy food since we have no beer in the shelves of any store since 2 weeks ago haha..no joke.

my friends with charters are having bad time cuz our small town is closed to recieve tourist or any non-commecial visitor and since there is only one road to get here is easy to control that, they are getting some income with the locals that want to fish but nothing compared to a normal situation.

when I leave the town to travel to the next big city to get some groceries (some are too expesive locally) on my way back the police on the check control asked for my ID to check my address to let me pass.

as Todd just said, we are supossed to cancel shelter in place in May 30th but not many will want to go to the movies, malls, parties, etc. it will take many weeks or more to feel like in a normal situation again.
