Hello

I hope this video attaches...
I am having trouble with my 706z getting caught on the slot by the main gear.

Could the arm be bent?  You had your thumb over it in the video.

I had it there or the arm easily flips out and it got annoying on the 5th take trying to make the video as small of a file size as possible lol

Is the notch supposed to go all the way to the top and bottom of the slot on the arm, or is there supposed to be equal distance from the top and bottom so it doesn't hit on either side?

Looking at it, it doesn't look bent out of place.

Should I take it out for better pictures? Or do these work?

check flatness on a sheet of glass (arm clean/dry)
minute deformity may be easier to feel, than see

give the post/slot a close inspection w/ magnifier & good light

I can do that! Do you know if the metal notch within the slot is supposed to go all the way to the top or if it is supposed to stop just before the top?

I just realized I had a second 706z that is my buddies wrapped up ready to be sent to him, so I unpacked it and compared. My arm's slot is rubbing while his doesn't. His arm also doesn't flap open when reversing the handle.
I wonder if it is a bad arm, or something else.

I figured it out...

It isn't the arm, it is the spool shaft (https://www.mysticparts.com/39-704-Shaft-Spool-Shaft-P1112.aspx?ItemId=3322708&Options=1162) the arm is connected to. It is back about 2 degrees so it pulls the arm down further than it is supposed to be, if I swap it, it doesn't rub either way, but much more on the sides.
I am going to look into how much those guys cost. I'm kind of upset because I dished out a long of money for this reel. :/ Well, I got a good deal on it but still...

well, either you got full disclosure & no reason to complain

or it's NAD & should have complained, BEFORE you opened it

never know how a seller will handle it: could be anything from SOB to

lightning-fast, no-question, complete refund WITH NO RETURN!!!

once, I even felt bad & sent a PayPal "partial refund on a complete refund" saying,

"hey, you refunded too much, too quick -- the reel may not be fully functional,

but worth plenty as parts...  here's your S&H + $10"

I'm going to call it good.
I got the 706z which is in amazing shape minus the spool shaft for $100 shipped.
The $20 bucks to get the replacement part is okay.
