So, with the new star and sleeve, I noticed at the tightest possible for the star drag (affects spinning the handle tight) the drag is still really loose... Like I put a finger lightly on the spool and it doesn't spin. Before upgrading to the SS I had super tight drag.
I have the SmoothDrag installed.. could I have missed a washer or this is normal and I need to upgrade the amount of drags I have?

I have confirmed I have 3 drags. I am using a delrin washer instead of the small CF washer that is in the kit.

Is the star bottoming out on the side plate, rubbing when you turn the handle? Might be you need to add another washer to get the drag stack taller.
A picture of everything in order would help

Yes it is bottoming out.
Where do you suggest I add another washer? Just pick one and double it up or?
I still have the old stock drags and metals... I could add an older drag + a metal washer and see how it sits... would that work? Or I could find another 6-60 laying around somewhere...

Add another keyed washer to the top of the drag stack.

I'll give it a shot!
I swapped out some drags on a parts reel so I have ht-100s and keyed washers to play with!

Like Rudy says, add another stock keyed washer on top of the stack.

Yep, just did that and it is back to normal!
Super easy fix and I feel silly for not thinking of it myself... haha
